Toen wij 20 jaar geleden begonnen met piercen, was het heel anders dan nu. Er waren veel minder piercings en de meest populaire piercing was de navel piercing. Wij pierceten veel mensen en voornamelijk jongeren kwamen langs in onze studio’s of op de grote festivals waar we werkten. In die tijd waren piercings niet zo algemeen geaccepteerd in de maatschappij. Het was rebels, gewaagd en ongewoon. Wij hielden ervan!
Heftige ontstekingen
Meestal bleven piercings mooi en met een beetje aandacht verliep het genezingsproces soepel en snel. Helaas was dit niet altijd het geval. We hadden veel ervaring opgebouwd en waren nieuwsgierig naar wat er dan toch niet helemaal goed ging. Soms zagen we heftige ontstekingen of uitgegroeide piercings. Waaraan kon dat liggen?
We gebruikten schone materialen en beschikten over de nodige ervaring. We werden als eerste goedgekeurd door de GGD en volgden alle hygiënische richtlijnen. De GGD gaf als advies antibacteriële zeep te gebruiken voor genezing dus gaven we dat mee. Daar waren klanten niet altijd even blij mee. Sommige mensen kregen ontstekingen van de zeep doordat ze de zeep niet grondig uitspoelden. Dit bleek dus ook niet echt een ideale oplossing te zijn.
We bleven verder zoeken. Een klant vertelde ons dat ze Tea Tree olie op haar piercing smeerde. Ze ervoer een snelle en effectieve genezing. Goed idee, dachten we! Iedereen Tea Tree olie meegeven! Dat moest toch werken? Ja, voor de meeste mensen was dit een oplossing maar andere kregen heftige allergische reacties. Ook daar stopten we dus al gauw weer mee.
Opgelost zeezout
We bleven door zoeken en kwamen uit op een zeezoutoplossing. Misschien had dat effect? Toen we besloten dit mee te geven was er geen sprake van allergische reacties. Dit leek de goede kant op te gaan! Alleen bleken de genezingen niet zo snel te gaan. Dit kon zeker beter!
We besloten het zeezout verder te onderzoeken en kwamen erachter dat er verschillende soorten zeezout zijn. We maakten verschillende soorten oplossingen met Keltisch zeezout. Dit werkte beter, maar nog lang niet snel genoeg. Uiteindelijk ontdekten we de zogenaamde ‘bloem van zeezout’. Hierin zitten 15x meer mineralen dan in gewoon zeezout. Een soort edel zeezout, zou je kunnen zeggen. Na lang experimenteren ontdekten we een effectieve manier om dit zeezout te gebruiken.
We gaven dit zeezout mee aan mensen met heftige ontstekingen en uitgegroeide piercings en adviseerden ze het op dezelfde manier te gebruiken. De wonderen zijn de wereld nog niet uit! Dit speciale wondermiddel zorgde soms voor genezingen binnen 1 nacht! Soms duurde het wat langer, maar het genezingsproces was korter dan we ooit hadden meegemaakt.
Dat was echt een doorbraak!
Wij waren echt blij met de resultaten. Klanten van onze Amsterdamse studio die ontstekingen of uitgroei ervoeren, waren echt blij met de resultaten. Zij vertelden anderen over dit middel en zo werden steeds meer mensen effectief geholpen. Simpel. Als je een ontsteking hebt, maak je het zakje gevuld met de ‘bloem van zeezout’ nat en plaatst deze op de ontstoken plek. Dit plak je vast met een pleister of een haarband (of beide). Laat het een nacht op de aangedane plek zitten.
Als de wond droogt kun je het opnieuw bevochtigen met een beetje water. Je kunt hiervoor het bijgevoegde pipetje gebruiken. Na een paar nachten is jouw heftige ontsteking verleden tijd. When we started piercing 20 years ago, things were very different. There were far fewer piercings and the most popular piercing was the navel piercing. We pierced a lot of people and mostly young people came to our studios or found us at big festivals. At the time, piercings were not so widely accepted in society. It was rebellious, daring, unusual. We loved it.
Severe inflammation or infection
In most cases, piercings healed beautifully and with proper care and attention, the healing process went smoothly and quickly. Unfortunately this wasn’t always the case. We had acquired a lot of experience and were curious about what went wrong. Sometimes we would encounter bad infections or overgrown piercings. How could this be?
We always used clean materials and a had a lot of experience. We were the first studio to be officially approved by the GGD and followed all hygienic guidelines. The GGD advised to use antibacterial soap for healing. So we gave this to our customers. This wasn’t a success… For some, it was hard to properly rinse off the soap which lead to infections. It’s safe to say that this wan’t an ideal solution.
We continued to think of alternatives. A customer told us that she applied Tea Tree oil to her piercing. She noticed a positive effect and her piercing seemed to heal quickly. Great idea! Or was it? Yes, for most people this could provide some relief but others experienced severe allergic reactions. We still hadn’t found a solution that would work for all.
Dissolving sea salt
We continued to try out different things and found that dissolving sea salt in water helped and caused no allergic reactions. This seemed to be going in the right direction! Proper healing unfortunately still took quite some time so there was definitely room for improvement.
We went on to investigate sea salt further. We found out that there were different types of sea salt and made different types of solutions using Celtic sea salt. This worked better, but still not fast enough. Then we discovered the so-called “flower of sea salt“. It contains 15 times more minerals than ordinary sea salt. After a long period of experimenting, we discovered an effective way to use this sea salt.
We gave this sea salt to people with severe inflammation and overgrown piercings and advised them to use it in the same way. We could not believe what happened! This miracle cure caused fast healing. Sometimes results were achieved within just 1 night of use! Sometimes it took a little longer, but the healing process was faster than we had ever seen.
This was a real breakthrough!

How can you use AphraHeals?
It’s simple: If you have an infection, moisten the bag filled with the “flower of sea salt” and place it on the infected area. Keep it in place with a band-aid or hair band (or both). Leave it on overnight.
